Why do we engage in our communities? Because community involvement helps UPS contribute to the places where UPSers live and work, ensuring a healthier environment and healthier future for UPS’ business.
As UPS begins its second century of service, The UPS Foundation has realigned its global strategy to strengthen its impact and better leverage the intellectual and physical assets of the company. The following new focus areas are built upon our rich experience and align with UPS's vision for the future:

- Nonprofit Effectiveness,

- Community Safety.
Employee-Driven Investments
The UPS Foundation is different from most foundations because we are an employee-driven Foundation. Through locally driven Community Involvement Committees, we encourage our employees to make recommendations to support organizations where they are involved as volunteers rather than accepting unsolicited grant proposals. Through this local employee engagement, we focus on certain key issues tied to our business expertise and corporate values.
This employee involvement, which is demonstrated through our strong culture of volunteerism, establishes UPS as an employer of choice and a great corporate citizen.
